Hen Parties in Croatia!
So you’re thinking about where to go for your gal pal’s hen do…. You want somewhere a little different…. Well, Split in Croatia should be right at the top of the list. Split really is a BEAUTIFUL location with plenty to do. It’s got the crystal-clear waters, restaurants with a view, cocktails to quench the thirst and even the beach clubs to chill (and drink some more).
Where is Split?
You can catch a plane from London and be in Split in about two and a half hours… that’s brilliant! Many well-known airlines fly there including EasyJet and British Airways, so planning travel is super simple. Split is the second-largest city of Croatia situated on the eastern shore of the Adriatic Sea and rather magnificently blends the historical buildings (there’s 200 ancient buildings remaining – you must explore the Old Town) with the modernity of the 21 st century – alfresco dining, shops, bars etc. Split is the perfect location to also enjoy some of the neighbouring islands, such as Hvar and Šolta. Thanks to the ferry port in the centre of Split, you can easily do day trips to these islands, with journeys taking as little as one hour each way.
Hen Activities in Split
Hit the high seas for a day! The water is seriously stunning and makes for perfect Instagram posts! Whether you want to explore neighbouring islands or explore some of the caves and stop off for a swim in the Blue Lagoon, there’s something for everyone. Our personal suggestion would be to spend the whole day exploring – it truly makes for a memorable day.
Us girls love to get dressed up for a sophisticated dinner… guilty! Head down to Dvor Restaurant for a seriously spectacular dinner with the most beautiful backdrop. Top Tip – get there for about 7.30pm when the sky turns a little darker and everything lights up. It’s truly magical. The food is equally as impressive. Excellent food, service, drink and views – what more could you want?! They’re very good for catering for large groups too so no need to worry about that.
We all love cocktails, and when you’ve got a large group, there’s nothing better than starting the evening off with a cocktail masterclass. We’ve exclusively partnered with a fantastic bar who are hosting these cocktail masterclasses. They’re even providing you with some Bloody Mary mix to nurse the sore heads the next day. How kind!
Partying in Split
Head down to Joe’s Beach for a day of lounging on beach beds whilst sipping on some refreshing cocktails. Prices start from about 150KN for hire of a beach lounger (around £20) and they also have 6 cabanas on offer too (these are a little pricier). They have a DJ too in the summer months, which is great fun. We recommend getting there just before midday – you can stay until 10pm too… result!
If you’re looking for a lively bar, we’d direct you to Fabrique. It’s a really cool place where you can have a good ol’ dance with your gals and enjoy that G&T. With a DJ playing the hits night after night, it certainly attracts a big crowd. You can also reserve a table too, with a very reasonable minimum spend too – it’s totally worthwhile to have somewhere to perch when you need to give those feet a rest for a short while.
So, in summary, if you’re thinking about heading to Croatia – whether it be a hen do, girls holiday, birthday celebration…. DO IT! It will totally exceed your expectations and doesn’t break the bank at the same time. It really is a winning combination and is a totally unique destination.
